Trainers / Consultants - No but highly recommended
MMC trainees - Almost certainly but nobody has actually said this yet.
Calman trainees - probably not quite.
Sorry to be vague! The SAC have said that it is highly recommended but not something you will get a RITA D for if you do not do. On the other hand JCHST has said that all trainees in all specialities should be using an electronic logbook that supports the centralised collection of data and this is the only one that is currently available to neurosurgeons! In effect it is expected that all trainees in Neurosurgery will use this logbook and certainly once MMC training starts I expect that the logbook will become compulsory for all trainees.
