Compatibility with ISCP Logbook |
|
|
Hi,
Most of our trainees and myself are using the FHI logbook. I've just been informed by our clinical fellow (ST4) that was advised by the RCS Eng that he should use the ISCP(*sic) logbook- I don't have access to this and we can't work out if he can import data from one to the other. Also the ISCP one doesn't seem to be working at present. Have you any info on this? It seems silly if we end up using multiple logbooks.
Thanks for advice

There is no requirement to use the ISCP logbook. In fact the SAC and SBNS are keen to discourage this.
ISCP have copied the logbook codes (without permission) from the FHI logbook, they are already out of date and to my knowledge no neurosurgeon is maintaining them.
The FHI logbook is the approved and recommended logbook for neurosurgeons throughout their training and consultant practice.

Thanks for the info Simon- I'll pass that back to the FTSTs. Many of the juniors not in run through training proper yet are perhaps unaware of the recommendation of the SBNS and SAC. That cerainly had been my impression.
