Trainer Role

To be visible to your trainees when they choose a Consultant, you must have selected the grade Consultant in My Details. Selecting the grade Consultant can be done at registration or on being appointed to a Consultant post at the end of training. If, in addition, you have been verified by the TPD in the role of "Consultant Trainer", the TPD will be able to see your trainer report, and you will also contribute data to the procedure by trainer report for your region. Being verified in the role of Consultant Trainer therefore allows the TPD to assess your performance as a trainer and therefore your suitability for receiving trainees.

Logbook Validation

The system for validating logbooks has been radically overhauled with the introduction of the new client. You will receive an automated email from the logbook whenever a trainee has completed more than 25 procedures on your patients which have not been validated by you, and similarly if there is a procedure that has not been validated for more than 30 days. The email will contain a link that will take you directly (after logging in) to a list of the operations to be validated. You may either validate them, or validate them taking a copy for your own logbook, or you may reject the validation and send a message to the trainee. Logbook Review

If you wish to review a trainees logbook during an initial, interim, or final meeting as an educational supervisor, or during an ARCP review, you should do this through ISCP.
